Seems like the The Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) are going to step in and try to remedy the dispute and tension going on between Rizon Jet and Qatar's Civial Aviation Authority. MEBAA's chairman Ali Al Naqbi says that the organisation would like to help its member "build a bridge and create an effective means of communicating concerns" with the authority.

It seems that business jet deliveries have been cut in half since their peak in 2007. 2012's total deliveries was apparently half of the total at 2007 levels.

Canadian completions center Flying Colours have successfully completed and delivered a re-done Bombardier Challenger 300 business jet to German company FairJets. Work started in September of 2012. The entire exterior of the plane was painted over and the interior was done over as well and of course- regular inspection was done.

    Interesting news out of Florida

It is normal for Florida's east coast to attract several flying aircraft, taking in the scenery at the same time. However, while President Obama was vacationing in Florida recently and there was Presidential TFR inplace, many pilots broke the TFR. If you do not know what a TFR is it is a, Temporary Flight Restrictions. It is said that a Lancair 320, a Robinson R44 helicopter and a Cessna 152 broke the restrictions. Apparently the Cessna 152 was intercepted by F-16s and forced to land at Witham Field in Stuart, Florida. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) is investigating.

The Active Winglets on a test model of the Citation Jet seems to have been providing promise in improvement of efficiency for the aircraft. In fact it is being claimed that the winglets saved some 300 lbs of fuel on an 1,100 nautical mile trip although the winglet company is claming closer to 800 lbs. For the latter is not surprising as it is their reputation at stake. The Active Winglets are going to be available for the Citation Jet and the Cirrus aircrft. For Cirrus the retrofit is likely to cost you $59,649 and on the CJ, $196,000 in 2014 when they are certified and fully available.

Nextant Aerospace has done themselves proud with the delivery of the first Swiss-owned 400XT light business jet to business aviation services provider TAG Aviation. The new delivery represents the third unit of the modernised Hawker 400A/XP into European market and overal, the 26th delivery of the seven-seat aircraft since it came on stream around 2 years ago.

Business Jet departures continue to fall in Europe in February

Business jet departures continued to fall in Europe in February 2013. However, the good thing about the decline is that it fell by 0.1%. Technically, although it is the eleventh straight month in fallen figures for biz jet departures, the percentage has slowed, which is a good sign.

Bombardier says it is not looking to replace its Challenger series aircraft despite rising competion on the business jet market. Things are definitely heating up so-to-speak in that regard, Dassault will be replacing its Falcon 2000LX, Gulfstream , the G350. Bombardier also has a number of new aircraft in development that will come online in the near future, the Learjet 40/45 and 70/75 and the Learjet 85 as well So they think they can hold on strong without having to develop a brand new replacement.

Cessna has released a new outlook that predicts a further dreaded year in terms of business jet deliveries in 2013. "We are now in the fifth year of no growth in the business jet business," Donnelly says. "It's a place that at some point needs to get back to growth. We thought surely that would happen in 2013," according toTextron chief executive Scott Donnelly.

I just watched something on Bloomberg about a company called JetSuite? Never heard of them 'til just now. Seems they are basing their fleet on Embraer Phenom 100s...instead of the bigjet fleet approach.
