    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today formally announced the appointment of Mark Kohler to vice president, Advanced Aircraft Programs. In the role for 18 months, Kohler has successfully overseen the development, build and powered rollout of the first Gulfstream G500 aircraft. He is now responsible for the development, certification and entry into service of the all-new G500 and G600 aircraft. Kohler reports to Dan Nale, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test, Gulfstream.

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently appointed Nicolas Robinson as director of Product Support Sales for Asia Pacific. He reports to Mike West, vice president, Product Support Sales and New Business Development. In his new role, Robinson oversees all Product Support Sales activities, including maintenance, refurbishment, avionics sales, provisioning and spare parts subscription sales in his territory, which stretches from China to New Zealand. He also establishes and grows customer relationships throughout the region and collaborates with and assists New Aircraft Sales team members.

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced today that its Flight Operations Test organization has earned International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) Stage 2 certification, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to the industry’s best safety practices. “Gulfstream is one of the first original equipment manufacturers to have its Flight Operations Test department obtain IS-BAO certification,” said Dan Nale, senior vice president, Programs, Engineering and Test, Gulfstream. “We pursued this voluntary certification to validate our safety management system processes and best practices and to set a new standard in the business aviation industry. This certification is significant as we begin two flight test programs for the all-new Gulfstream G500 and G600.”

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced that it has appointed Lee Anne Tait vice president, Quality. In this position, Tait is responsible for overseeing the quality and continuous improvement efforts at all Gulfstream manufacturing and product support facilities. She reports to Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Product Support, and Dennis Stuligross, senior vice president, Operations, Gulfstream.

    Tait brings more than 30 years of experience to her new position, having begun her aerospace and defense career in 1983 as a member of the Quality group at McDonnell Douglas. Before joining Gulfstream, she served as the vice president of Quality and Mission Assurance at Aerojet Rocketdyne in Sacramento, California, where she managed more than 560 people across 14 operational sites. She previously served in similar roles at several other defense and aerospace companies, including Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopter.

    Jet Aviation Singapore recently gained approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It allows them to provide line and base maintenance to the Gulfstream G650 business jets.

    Key Air announces that it added a G650ER business jet to its fleet of charter jets. The new jet represents the longest-ranger business jet in the company's charter fleet to go along with other long-range birds like the GV and Global 5000 from Bombardier. The addition also marks Key Air as the first operator to have a Gulfstream G650ER under a Part 135 charter certificate. Chris Hand, vice president and director of operations of Key Air said: “I’m very proud of the efforts made by our Maintenance and Operations professionals in keeping the conformity of the highly capable Gulfstream G650ER on track.”

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has appointed Amy Ariano vice president, Human Resources. Ariano reports to Ira Berman, senior vice president, Administration and General Counsel, Gulfstream.In her new role, Ariano will lead Gulfstream’s Human Resources organization with responsibility for all aspects of the employment, recruitment, development, engagement and retention of Gulfstream’s workforce. “I am pleased to welcome Amy to the Gulfstream family,” said Berman. “With her 20 years of experience leading teams around the world and working across departments to recruit and develop the talent needed to drive a large-scale business, Amy’s leadership will bolster the continued success of our world-class employees and the programs that support them.”

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced the appointment of Cobi Lane as general manager of its service center in Las Vegas. Lane reports to Barry Russell, vice president, Gulfstream Product Support. In his new role, Lane oversees all aspects of Gulfstream Las Vegas, a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for all Gulfstream aircraft. Gulfstream Las Vegas, located at McCarran International Airport, has more than 70 employees and approximately 75,000 square feet/6,968 square meters of hangar and office space.

    SaxonAir announces that they have added a Gulfstream G550 to their fleet of impressive business aircraft. A trip to their website suggests that they just added the aircraft this month (June). Apparently it is a 2012-built aircraft and currently bears registration G-MRLX.

    Gulfstream now plans to make the Paris Airshow a permanent fixture

    “Paris attracts a number of existing and potential customers who are either attending show or living in the area,” says Gulfstream’s senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Scott Neal. “It also gives us another opportunity after EBACE [Europe’s dedicated business aviation event, held in May] to showcase our products in the region to an totally international audience,” he continued.

    Cleopatra Group has ordered a brand new G600 from Gulfstream. The news came at the Paris Airshow where the the Cairo-based conglomerate is already a long-term Gulfstream owner with a fleet two G550s, one GIV-SP and a G650. The company has a second G650 on order as well.

    U.S-based computer parts company Qualcomm is delighted to have taken delivery of its second Gulfstream G650. The new aircraft was was delivered to Qualcomm just a couple days ago and bears registration N887WT. The first G650 for this company was delivered back in 2013 and has registration N886WT. The company also operates a Bombardier Global Express and two other Gulfstream business jets.

    Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced it will expand its site at Long Beach Airport in California, creating at least 50 jobs in its Product Support organization. Gulfstream Long Beach, home to an aircraft service center, a completions facility and a sales and design center, will grow with the opening of a 19,000-square-foot/1,765-square-meter maintenance hangar and nearly 10,000 sf/929 sm of accompanying support and office space. “We expect the facility to be operational in mid- to late summer,” said Becky Johnson, vice president and general manager, Gulfstream Long Beach. “The additional jobs and added capacity are fantastic news for this community and our customers.” Long Beach’s new hangar can accommodate up to three Gulfstream large-cabin aircraft. The accompanying ramp space holds up to 10 aircraft.

    We all know how long the line is in terms of waiting for a G650 slot. Perhaps if you are interested in a used one, then you will have no wait at all! That's because Denis O'Brien, yes the Irish Telcoms big man appears to be putting his G650 up for sale. The aircraft was delivered him by Gulfstream in July of 2013 so it is still fairly new. If you want it, that will set you back $67.95-million, that's the asking price. Since being delivered in mid-2013, the aircraft accumulated 1,734 hours ad around 558-flights.
