Honda Aircraft’s HondaJet is entering Part 135 charter service with Cutter Aviation. Cutter, which also serves as the Southwest dealer for the new light jet, completed all the requirements to add the aircraft to its charter fleet and was slated to begin flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. “We are delighted to be the first charter provider offering flights with the new HondaJet,” said Gordon Paige, Cutter’s director of operations, noting the aircraft seats up to six passengers, has a fully enclosed lavatory, and provides more baggage space than competitors in the cabin size.

Hondajet has restarted work! The airframer of the well-known Over The Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) light jet (Hondajet and Hondajet ELITE) restarted production on May 4th and said that they will be producing at a much lower rate. CEO Michimasa Fujino said, "in the near-term, we have to take care of our associates. This includes sanitizing of facilities and equipment, use of partitions, and social distancing in the Greensboro, North Carolina headquarters, assembly area, customer service facility, and research and development operation. Most engineers are working remotely 'and continue to do research activities,'" he said.

Honda Aircraft Company announced recently that it has established the second HondaJet flight training center with FlightSafety International in Farnborough, Hampshire, in the United Kingdom. Due to increased demand for the HondaJet in Europe, Honda Aircraft Company started construction on a second FlightSafety International HondaJet Elite simulator in October 2019. The HondaJet flight training session in this new location began earlier this month, after the center received EASA certification. FlightSafety’s Farnborough Learning Centre provides initial and recurrent pilot training, as well as a wide variety of other courses designed to meet the specific needs of HondaJet operators.

"As our fleet continues to increase in size, it is necessary for the HondaJet service, support and training network to expand. We are pleased to announce that we have completed the installation of the second HondaJet flight simulator at Farnborough, which has begun operation. The HondaJet was designed to reduce pilot workload and maximize the flying experience, and so we are confident that it will be enjoyed by pilots and passengers alike. We are proud of the relationship between our global support network and FlightSafety International. They have been instrumental in providing HondaJet customers with an unrivaled ownership experience," said Honda Aircraft Company president and CEO Michimasa Fujino.
