Copenhagen International Airport in Denmark has been titled as the first airport to have a full airport navigation tool. It is apparently the world's first full 360 degree airport navigation technology for passengers' smartphones and PCs. The technology takes passengers all the way through Denmark's main airport, starting out in the car park or at its Metro Station and ending at the boarding gates. It allegedly functions in a similar way to Google Maps.

Lydd Airport proposed expansion causing a stir

If plans are approved for the small airport of Lydd to expand in the manner that it wants to then serious concern will be raised. This is because there is a nuclear power plant sited just three miles away and expansion would obvious taken aviation alot closer. if approved, would see it upgraded from a small airport used mainly by private fliers to a key regional airport able to handle short-to-medium range airliners up to Airbus A320-size.

An Airbridge or jetway that was servicing a Cathay Pacific Airbus A330 'fell' from its loading position at the aircraft's door. The jet's door was allegedly ripped-off in the process on April 7th, 2013 at the Hong Kong International Airport. The 1995-built A330 apparently had finished loadingits 262 passengers when the incident occured at gate 71. "The air bridge at gate 71 fell because of a technical problem," says an Airport Authority Hong Kong spokesman. A worker that was in the cabin of the airbrige operating it was injured when it fell.

Changi international in the news again...

Changi Airport in Singapore has once again been judged the world's best by the passengers that use it. The Singapore airport stealed the top spot ahead of South Korea's Incheon International and the Netherlands' Amsterdam Schiphol, which took second and third place at the World Airport Awards event.

Chicago's O'Hare International cited at worst Airport for punctuality.

Apparently Chicago's O'Hare International is ranked worst airport in the U.S for punctuality. I guess they will counter this and say that all those snow storms and mild conditions that caused cancellations made them unable to keep all the flights on time.

I guess you would be glad to know that the percentage of mishandled luggage has declined by 2-percent globally. This is according to SITA's latest Baggage Report comparing last year over 2011 figures.

The Mumbai hub continues to be regarded as having the worst record for flight delays amongst all the airports in the entire country. Statistics suggest that some four out of the five domestic sector airlines operate a better on-time performance at other major airports than in Mumbai.

Airbus and parent company EADS is toying with a new so-called...stealthy building modifcation that is aimed at making airport buildings less off an interference to essential landing systems like ILS. As you know, buildings on the airport site, if they are too close to the runway can mess-up signals. So Airbus and EADS are working on this set of aluminium panels that can diffract radio waves and, thus in the process limit them reaching airport runways.

Seems like some earthen ware that was being carried by some person/s in-transit at Hollywood Airport had their items detained when TSA found what perhaps may be human remains, skulls and teeth and such. More on this.

    Most Expensive Airport Taxi Transfer

The priciest airport transfers have been revealed. Passengers with light pockets may be advised to avoid taxis from Narita Airport in Tokyo, if new research done is to be believed. Serving Japan's capital, a taxi from the chief international airport into the city centre could cost you nearly £200, according to the research. However, the eye-popping price tag for the 41-mile ride was not the most expensive when assessed by the cost by distance travelled. The No.1 rank belonged to Copenhagen, where an average five-mile trip will set you back £34.08, which works out at £6.82 for every mile.

High landing fees hit sour note with patrons at the Santa Monica Airport

Despite more than half of the near 100 speakers being against the idea of high landing fees at the Santa Monica Airport, the City Council almost without taking their views into consideration voted for the high fees. The fees which run $5.48 per 1,000-pounds imposed on all airplanes touching down at Santa Monica Airport will be something to get used to.
