  1. Aerion Gets Boost With New Boeing Partnership
Perhaps in what is the most significant news regarding Aerion recently is the just announced partnership with Boeing. Aerion is trying to bring a viable commercial/business aviation supersonic aircraft to the market called the AS2 and while there is competition out there from other companies like BOOM Supersonic, it will take big partnerships like these to bring renewed aspirations of commercial supersonic travel to fruition. As part of the agreement, Boeing made a significant investment in Aerion to accelerate technology development and aircraft design, and unlock supersonic air travel for new markets.
  2. Boeing will provide engineering, manufacturing and flight test resources, as well as strategic vertical content, to bring Aerion’s AS2 supersonic business jet to market. "Boeing is leading a mobility transformation that will safely and efficiently connect the world faster than ever before," said Steve Nordlund, vice president and general manager of Boeing NeXt. "This is a strategic and disciplined leading-edge investment in further maturing supersonic technology. Through this partnership that combines Aerion’s supersonic expertise with Boeing’s global industrial scale and commercial aviation experience, we have the right team to build the future of sustainable supersonic flight." Expect the first flight of the Aerion AS2 to be in 2023.
