Aerion Gets Boost With New Boeing Partnership Perhaps in what is the most significant news regarding Aerion recently is the just announced partnership with Boeing. Aerion is trying to bring a viable commercial/business aviation supersonic aircraft to the market called the AS2 and while there is competition out there from other companies like BOOM Supersonic, it will take big partnerships like these to bring renewed aspirations of commercial supersonic travel to fruition. As part of the agreement, Boeing made a significant investment in Aerion to accelerate technology development and aircraft design, and unlock supersonic air travel for new markets.
Boeing will provide engineering, manufacturing and flight test resources, as well as strategic vertical content, to bring Aerion’s AS2 supersonic business jet to market.
