  1. Cessna Deliveries Cut In Half In Q2; Posts 66M Loss
Textron Aviation's brand Cessna saw its deliveries cut in half and incur a 66-million dollar loss in the second quarter of 2020. Cessna managed to ship 23 Citation jets to customers in the period which is down from 46 units delivered in Q2 2019. 15 turboprops were delivered to owners versus 34 in the same quarter of 2019. Corona Virus has made its presence felt and the fall-out from it is deep for many airframers. Sales have been affected too for Cessna but the marketing and sales teams are back out in the field with some restrictions being lifted.
  2. "The sales team is back in the field meeting with customers and arranging demonstration flights," said Scott Donnelly, Chairman, CEO, and President of Textron Inc. "We saw a pick-up in business jet flight activity in the latter part of Q2, and we expect to see higher new aircraft deliveries and aftermarket revenue in the second half of the year." One bright spark for them was in the Citation M2 and King Air 250 models where there appears to be stronger interest. The first half of 2020, Textron Aviation revenues sank to $1.62 billion dollars. For the same half year period in 2019 the company had revenues of $2.26 billion.
