  1. Testing Starts On Cessna Sky Courier 408 Design
Remember in November or December of 2017, JF alerted you to the unveiling of the Cessna Sky Courier 408 design? Cessna has been quietly behind the scenes working on fine-tuning the design for the final product before the build gets underway on the test planes. Cessna says that they have completed initial wind tunnel testing on the Sky Courier 408 model, paving the way for the final design.
  2. "For the initial wind tunnel testing, we use a custom, precision model with electric motors and scaled propellers calibrated to represent the thrust produced by the real aircraft," said Brad Thress, senior vice president, Engineering. "We’re making outstanding progress in the development of this clean-sheet aircraft and are eager to continue defining the details that will allow us to start creating tools and parts."
  3. Cessna is anticipating first flight of the Cessna SkyCourier in 2019 with entry into service in 2020. We expect FedEx to be the launch customer for this aircraft in 2020. Results from comprehensive wind tunnel tests will provide performance and aerodynamic characteristics and structural load data, further finalizing the aircraft design. This is exciting times for Cessna as they already have the Denali in development.
