300th TBM 900 Series Aircraft Delivered By Daher Daher Socata has highlighted the delivery of the 300th TBM 900 series very fast turboprop. The landmark aircraft has gone to a long-time customer which is a couple of a family who have purchased TBM aircraft over the last 20 years. The aircraft is also adorned in a special livery which is usually done for landmark aircraft. The very fast turboprop has gold and white accents along with a very special red carnation which is special to the owner.
The red carnation flower has been worn daily for 50 years by Dr. Ian Blair Fries in honor of his patients. It was fitting to have a motif of the flower on the aircraft to commemorate the gesture. Dr. Fries and his wife Susan Fries, took delivery of the TBM 940 version as the fourth TBM-family. Dr. Fries also flies as well and has over 6,000 hours under his belt. Additionally he has ATP license with a Certified Flight Instructor Instrument rating. He is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s (AOPA) Board of Advisors, and serves as aeromedical consultant for the AOPA and the Teamsters Airline Division.
