  1. Falcon 6X Certification Testing Complete; Approval Soon
The Dassault Falcon 6X is nearing its certification point and it is expected to be granted in the coming weeks. The certification testing program is pretty much completed and the fleet of test aircraft have accumulated 1,480 flight test hours in the air which covered approximately 580-test flights. The Falcon 6X will be a game-changer for Dassault Falcon as it will be bringing full-capability, comfort and luxury without having to have the largest aircraft to do it. With a range of approximately 5,500 nautical miles, the Falcon 6X will be able to take its passengers through regular city-pairs with ease. For example, Los Angeles to Geneva, São Paulo to London or Paris to Johannesburg.
  2. The passenger cabin is also very spacious with a tall 6-foot 6-inch height inside and will represent the tallest cabin in (purpose-built) business aviation when it enters service. Although the in-development Falcon 10X will have a taller and bigger cabin, the 6X has until then to have this distinction. Overall, the cabin of the Falcon 6X will feature a variety of seating configuration to seat around 12 normally but can seat up to 16.
  3. The third Falcon 6X flight test aircraft, equipped with a fully fitted cabin interior, will head this year’s exhibit. Before its arrival in Geneva, the aircraft endured a gauntlet of extreme hot and cold temperature soaks and flooded runway trials as well as high-altitude, high-speed testing. Testing has gone mainly according to plan and will permit the new 6X to enter service seamlessly. Keep in mind, in its development, the 6X was actually supposed to be the Falcon 5X. The 5X was rolled out in 2015 and made its first flight in mid-2017. However, constant issues with the Safran Silvercrest powerplants that were meant to power the 5X forced Dassault to shelve the 5X. The 6X was essentially a slightly stretched version of the 5X with new PW812D powerplants.
