New Falcon From Dassault? On the eve of the 2019 edition of the NBAA-BACE show in Last Vegas, Nevada French airframer Dassault has teased about the possibility of a new Falcon jet. No specifics were given relating to the new jet but just know they are working on something new. Plans are to unveil this new jet sometime in 2020 but we will see how that goes. Dassault's current workload is with the new Falcon 6X.
The Falcon 6X is a new twin-jet that basically is the replacement for the failed Falcon 5X which was terminated back in 2017 thanks to persistent issues with the Safran Silvercrest powerplants. That led to the creation of the 6X which is now powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 series engines. First flight for this is expected in 2021 followed by service entry in 2022.
