  1. Epic E1000 Edges Near Certification
The small Epic E1000 turboprop from Epic Aircraft is closer to certification than it was before. Top officials at the company saw they were shooting for late 2016 but have also given time for unforeseen circumstances to happen and gives a leeway into early to mid 2017. FT1 has completed control surfaces envelope, systems testing and general handling. FT2 is to test interior and operational capabilities like the fuel, hydraulic, avionics, navigational and environmental systems.
  2. At this point the all-composite E1000 has gained 70 orders. The aircraft is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67A engine and has a maximum range of 1,650nm. Top cruise speed is in the region of 325-knots. The cockpit is equipped with a Garmin G1000 flight deck sure to make operation much easier for the pilot. Pricing for the aircraft is slated to be 2.95-million. Once no major hurdles come up in the final leg of testing certification should come by the first half of 2017.
