TBM 940 Gains FAA Certification Earlier this year the Daher Socata TBM 940, the latest iteration of a long and successful TBM line, was certificated by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). With that in hand they were able to deliver the TBM 940 in Europe. One of the strong markets, the American market could not be satisfied as they did not have Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type Certification (TC).
Jet Forums can now inform you that TC from the FAA has now been given to the very fast single engine turboprop the TBM 940. The latest iteration essentially is a more automated version of the 930 offering high-tech solutions in the cockpit for the pilots. They would definitely enjoy auto-throttles which is standard on the 940. There is also automatic de-icing protection too engaging when it detects icing anywhere on the airframe. Daher claims that the TBM 940 is the first turboprop with autopilot integration in the auto-throttles. The cockpit is also fitted with the Garmin G3000 flight deck which is more advanced than what the TBM 910 offers (Garmin G1000). For more information: SOCATA North America, Inc.
