Xwing is a company that operates in San Francisco, the United States and they have been quietly working on a project that would bring autonomous flight to the Cessna Caravan. They did it with a number of passenger flights utilizing a Cessna C208B Caravan recently. The aircraft is supervised remotely who communicate with Air Traffic Control to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its cargo or occupants.
  2. The company wants to also start commercial cargo flights soon and has applied for and obtained a Part 135 Air Carrier certificate to do so. The company also wants to deploy the technology wider in its fleet and use that as a marketing tool and further in the future open the technology to a wider audience with partnerships or licensing of the technology.
