  1. Flaris LAR 1 Finally Takes Off
After six years the Flaris LAR 1 has finally been able to take off on its first test flight. The test aircraft took off from the Zielona Gora Babimost Airport with Wieslaw Cena, an experienced experimental pilot at the controls on April 5th. Once certification is completed of this single-jet engine aircraft it will be available for all to purchase. Flaris is targeting the market of PPL (Private Pilot License) holders.
  2. The first flight of Flaris, which has been long awaited, was a success for the Polish project and its producer. The light aircraft will be expected to operate from short runways and even grass fields. Its altitude should be around 45,000 feet at 380-knots. Flaris is also putting the aircraft in a new category by itself and calling it the HPJ (High Speed Personal Jet). It will carry 5 seats and cost around 1.5 million dollars. The single powerplant onboard is a Williams FJ33-5A which produces 1,900 lb of thrust. The range with it is going to be in the region of 1,400 nautical miles.
