  1. AirFlow Launches New eSTOL Aircraft Design
AirFlow is a new company formed from individuals previously working on the Vahana eVTOL effort. These individuals have now branched off and are doing their own venture called AirFlow and it involves moving away from the eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing) concept and going towards eSTOL (electric/extremely Short Take Off and Landing). This in AirFlow's mind is a more cost-effective way of doing the e-airtaxi/cargo urban air mobility market concept for the future.
  2. eSTOL has several advantages. Simply because it is closer to conventional aircraft, it can also be certified under existing Part 23 regulations. As a result of being closer to being mainstream, the eSTOL can be brought to market for significantly less than eVTOL. A very short runway is all that is needed for the eSTOL concept as well needing only 150-feet to take off or land. AirFlow's concept will have ten electric small props on the forward edge of the wing and a much larger pusher-prop at the back of the fuselage. At this stage AirFlow wants to break into service with a cargo variant using one pilot and the ability to endure 250 miles carrying up to 500 lbs of cargo. While this may sound revolutionary for AirFlow, it really is not as others have endeavoured in the eSTOL concept such as Electra.aero and Pyka.
