  1. Gulfstream G650 Family Surpasses 75 Speed Records
The Gulfstream G650 family of ultra-longrange executive jets continue to pile on speed records and other achievements since entry into service back in 2012. Gulfstream highlights that this jet family has flown past 75 speed records and also has been working on steep-approach certification now. Operating into airports like London City (LCY) requires steep-approach certification because of stringent noise abatement measures at the airport. Often times the approach is at a steep 5.5 degree angle. Most airports tend to be 3 degrees. Additionally the runway is fairly short offering only 4,329-feet.
  2. "Even with more than 315 G650ER and G650 aircraft in service around the world, we continue to enhance the utility, flexibility and real-world performance of these already class-defining aircraft," said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. The G650ER demonstrated its performance advantage with the following records, pending approval by the National Aeronautic Association: Keflavik, Iceland, to Foz do IguaƧu, Brazil, in 11 hours and 46 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90. Beijing to Paris in nine hours and 18 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90. Tel Aviv, Israel, to Kiev, Ukraine, in two hours and 41 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90. Kiev, Ukraine, to London in two hours and 50 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90.
