  1. First Gulfstream G700 Takes Off
N700GA is the registration of the first G700 of the Gulfstream G700 flight test program to take to the skies. The first flight happened on the 14th of February and it stayed aloft for around 2 hours and 32 minutes. This is the first of five flight test articles. All five have been built already and Gulfstream is looking ahead to rigourous testing of these airframes to satisfy the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other major regulatory bodies.
  2. It is expected that the G700 will go into service 2022. It was only at last year's NBAA-BACE in October that Gulfstream unveil the ultra-long executive jet. The G700 is building on the successes of the Gulfstream G650ER while offering even more. Up to five zones can be developed into the cabin and according to Gulfstream patrons can expect to feel super comfortable in what they describe as the tallest, longest and widest cabin -in class- in the business aviation industry. The aircraft will sport two new Pearl 700 powerplants which should produce 18,250 lbs of thrust a side which is expected to help give the G700 a range of 7,500 nautical miles or more at high-speed cruise. At 0.90 though the range decreases to 6,500 nautical miles. There are redesigned winglets too which are sure to help range performance too.
