Deliveries And Sales Rise For Gulfstream In First Quarter The first quarter of 2019 was particularly good to General Dynamics company Gulfstream. In terms of sales and deliveries the airframer performed better than during the same period in the prior year. General Dynamics reported that the company recorded 34 deliveries for the quarter which included twenty seven large cabin and seven midsize cabin jets. Compared to the same period last year that was a considerable increase (twenty six shipments -19 large and seven medium size-).
The increase in shipments would have been due to deliveries of the new Gulfstream G500. Order intake also grew for the quarter. "Backlog for the G650, G500, and G600 all increased in the quarter," General Dynamics chairman and CEO Phebe Novakovic said. Aerospace backlog was at $12.168 billion by the end of March which was up from $11.375 billion at the end of 2018.
