Honeywell Unveils Its Latest Avionics Flight Deck Honeywell just unveiled their latest avionics flight deck for a myriad of cockpit types. It is called Anthem Avionics and it is their next-generation avionics platform designed for aircraft as small as eVTOLs in the Advanced Air Mobility segment to executive jets to as large as cargo transports. Anthem has a touchscreen interface and is connected to the cloud. A few eVTOL manufacturers have expressed interest to have this flight deck in their cockpits, namely VA-X4 of Vertical Aerospace and Lilium Jet of Lilium.
The advantages of this system are; less time for maintenance, faster readiness to take off/departure, smoother flights, simplified pilot training. "This is a transformational change compared with Epic, not an incremental or growth version," said Vipul Gupta, Honeywell Aerospace's v-p and general manager of avionics. "It’s drastically new, but we are reusing some software elements.
