    Finally there is news about vertiport infrastructure for the eVTOL sector. ABB and Lilium is collaborating to ensure charging facilities at vertiports are established for Lilium's seven-seat Lilium Jet. The eVTOL space is moving and growing with new a cadre of proposals and concepts being constantly added. Hoewever, there has not been enough emphasis on the infrastructure needed to support these aircraft when they are eventually certified. ABB and Lilium are striving to get their infrastructure up and running by 2024 which is when the Lilium Jet is earmarked to enter service.
  2. Lilium plans to have operations in Brazil, Florida and Germany. With the Lilium Jet carded to be able to fly 155 miles at 175mph there will be need for charging stations in nearby locations. The ABB charging points are designed to be capable of fully charging batteries in approximately 30 minutes and providing 80% charge in 15 minutes. "Combining Lilium’s mission to grow sustainable aviation with ABB’s global market expertise and leadership in e-mobility and charging infrastructure is a win for the environment and a win for passengers," said Frank Muehlon, President of ABB’s E-mobility Division. The Lilium Jet is presently in dual certification with FAA and EASA.
