  1. Maeve Aerospace Maeve 01 To Fly By 2030s
    Another electric airliner has surfaced and this time it is from a Dutch start-up called Maeve Aerospace. The regional airliner itself is called the Maeve 01 and will start-off carrying 44 passengers on journeys approximately 250 nautical miles by 2029. There are further ambitions and plans to scale the aircraft to carry as many as 52 passengers by 2032 having much further range by 2040, but this is all hinging on battery-tech becoming significantly better than it is presently.
  2. The design which will see a high-fuselage mounted wing -similar to ATR- is to have 8 electric motor engines. Nice the ATR name has been mentioned, the Dutch start-up is suggesting that the Maeve 01 will be able to deliver operating costs which are 17% less than an ATR 42 regional turboprop. No conventional tugs will be required either. The electric wheel drive system for the nose landing gear that will allow the aircraft to push back from airport gates without a tow truck. Maeve suggests the aircraft will be quickly recharged (35 minutes) using portable DC-DC charging systems and for all other functions will be compatible with existing airport ground support equipment. The company says it has received a few provisional orders for the aircraft from around 4 customers totaling 20 aircraft.
