  1. Cessna SkyCourier Spared After Explosion
A few days ago a massive explosion rocked one of the facilities of the Wichita-based Cessna. The building that was affected housed assembly of the new SkyCourier that Textron/Cessna has under development. Reports are now suggesting that despite the severity of the blast, the SkyCourier was not affected. The explosion sent 11 persons to the hospital while others were treated on the scene.
  2. The news of the explosion came after recent milestone of the wing-mating with the fuselage. Assessment is still ongoing but it does not appear to have affected the SkyCourier program significantly. The SkyCourier is a twin-engine turboprop currently in development by Textron Aviation's Cessna. The high-wing turboprop is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65SC and should be able to make 200 KTAS. It will be available in commuter/exec configuration or cargo.
