  1. Bye Aerspace eFlyers Ordered By Quantum Air
Another company is on board with the electric planes for Air Taxi services in the future. Quantum Air has now ordered twenty-two (22) eFlyer 4 (four seaters) and four (4) eFlyer 2 airplanes (two seaters). Quantum Air is a Los Angeles based Air Taxi service. Even though these new orders are in, there is no real timeline for when the planes are to be delivered. Knowing the stage that the eFlyer program is at, -critical design review-. If all goes according to plan, Bye Aerospace should have Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) FAR 23 type certification for the eFlyer 2 in 2021 and eFlyer 4 in 2022. This should give a much better idea as to a vague timeline.
  2. With the eFlyers being run by electric motors and fully electric Bye Aerospace is busy also working on Lithium Sulphur batteries for the eFlyer aircraft. It is more of a proof-of-concept at this stage and they are partnering with Oxis Energy on this project. This is not a new venture for Oxis Energy as they have been working on Lithium Sulphur battery technology in the past even with names such as Airbus. "One of Quantum Air’s goals is to disrupt aviation, providing more accessible, cost-efficient high-speed air transportation solutions—including FAA Part 135 on-demand air taxi travel—to help alleviate the noise and CO2 emissions challenges that accompany traditional internal combustion aircraft," George Bye said. George Bye who is the head at Bye Aerospace joined the board of advisors at Quantum Air.
