News: Swedish Medevac Company PC-24 Makes First Flight

  1. First Medevac Swedish PC-24 Takes Flight
    The first Swedish medevac configured Pilatus PC-24 has made its first flight. This is one of six aircraft of the type that is on order for Swedish Air Ambulance company Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg (KSA). Despite the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic Pilatus still was able to forge ahead with production. The maiden flight heralds the start of numerous flight tests to be performed by Pilatus. On completion of these tests, the PC-24s for KSA will be transferred to Aerolite AG, the specialist Swiss company appointed to oversee the installation of the medevac interior.
  2. With the flight out of the way testing will continue as well as production on the other five aircraft. All six aircraft on order are expected to be delivered to KSA in 2021. It is a tight production schedule but one that is extremely important given the nature of the roles these jets will perform in the future. As an air ambulance service organisation, KSA will provide advanced medical assistance and access to fast, professional aeromedical care, to everyone living in Sweden. The KSA is the third aeromedical organization to order and have the Pilatus PC-24 Super Versatile jet in their fleet. Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) in Australia as well as the North Slope Borough Search and Rescue Department in the United States.
