  1. Citation Production Rates For 2017 To Be Adjusted By Textron
In 2017 Textron Aviation plans to adjust the production rates for some Citation class business jets in its Cessna brand. It is in response to strong customer pricing circumstances. The company made this known during its year-end earnings call. Basically many customers are not willing to pay the stipulated price that Cessna is asking and Cessna themselves are not willing to go low to the customer's wishes.
  2. So instead of keeping production high and risk not selling aircraft they will cut the rate of production of some of the Citation models and hope that the market picks back up. Textron's CEO, Scott Donnelly said, “while we will still have continued growth on the Latitude side based on its demand, we are pulling back on the production volumes and unit volumes for 2017 for a lot of these other aircraft because again we are not willing to go to the price levels where people seem to want to go.” Deliveries for Cessna are still decent with the company shipping 178 Citation jets in 2016 compared to 166 units the previous year.
