  1. Gulfstream Flies Third G700 Flight Test Article
American airframer Gulfstream Aerospace has flown the third flight test article of its new G700 ultra-long-range large-cabin executive jet. Gulfstream calls this one T3 and as you could have predicted has the registration N703GA. On Friday, the newest test article took the the skies for a 3 hour run and the crews carried it to FL450 and a speed of Mach 0.85.
  2. Since February, the G700 program has been in actual flight testing and between the three articles, more than 100 flight test hours have been logged. "The G700 flight-test program is running very well, a reflection of the extensive testing we conducted in our ground labs," said Gulfstream president Mark Burns. "All three flight-test aircraft are performing exactly as we expected." In all, there will be six flight test articles. The sixth will function as the production test article. T5 will focus on Level D simulator data as well as avionics, T4 will test flight into known icing, environmental control system as well as mechanical facets. T3 is working on general performance such as climb, field and thrust/reverser engine operation along with loads/PID testing. T2 is cabin development testing as well as static testing while the first article, T1 was general flight characteristics testing.
