  1. Wireless Cabin Management System Unveiled
At the Aircraft Electronics Association convention in Dallas last week Cabin Management Solutions unveiled its new CMS Evolve cabin management and in-flight entertainment system. The facet about the CMS Evolve system is that it is completely wireless. There is a patented wireless technology that allows the system to communicate through interior furnishings and products throughout the interior. This complete system is already STC'd on a Dassault Falcon 900. The next approval they are going for is on the Gulfstream G550.
  2. Jeffrey McCormick, v-p of operations for Cabin Management Solutions, says on the Falcon 900 installation they utilized one of the company’s Evolve cabin management units (CMUs). This is used to control cabin lighting, the shades on the cabin windows along with environmental cabin controls etc. The CMU communicates wirelessly and seamlessly with devices connected to Evolve touch switch panels, touch panels, and remote-mount switches. This results in a much faster and easier installation, keeping the aircraft downtime minimal and no need to run cabling through the aircraft. The next big event that CMS will be attending is the NBAA in Las Vegas in October, 12-14th.
