XPeng X2 Flying Car Makes Public Debut In Dubai The Chinese XPeng X2 flying car has made its public debut at an event in Dubai. It is being made to carry 2 persons in an air taxi role for the future. XPeng actually manufactures electric cars in general in the categories of SUV, Crossovers and regular saloon-type vehicles. The XPeng X2 is actually being developed by the company's dedicated arm for the flying car, Xpeng Aeroht.
Xpeng’s X2 flying car eVTOL showcases a sleek teardrop design to the body of the craft and it has an enclosed cockpit for the two persons inside. Th X2 gets its lift from eight propellers that are placed on each corner of the electric craft. Construction of the craft was made in carbon fiber to naturally reduce the weight of the overall structure while maintaining a strong airframe. "Xpeng X2's public display in Dubai represents a significant milestone for Xpeng Aeroht and the international achievement of flying cars,” said Brian Gu, vice chairman and president of Xpeng. Since it is an experimental aircraft it still needs a special flying permit from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) just to operate the short demonstration.
