On 10th November there was an Emirates Boeing 777 that was forced to make a diversion to Athens. The reason was because of a suspicious passenger on board from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the United States. The aircraft was flying from Athens to Newark at the time when the threats were alleged to have transpired.

The Radisson Hotel in Berlin was very famous four its 16 meter high aquarium in the middle of its atrium. But only until yesterday. The aquarium glass bursted and the ground level of the hotel got flooded and all the debris floated out of the front door onto the street. Looks like a lot of dead fish in the streets.

I used to stay in that hotel, when I was for business in Berlin. But my hackles were always standing up, when having a coffee below that large pile of water. Luckily nobody died or got hurt heavily.

The aquarium opened in December 2003. Capacity 1.000.000 litres of water, 1.500 fish. Luckily the glas bursted shortly after 4 o'clock in the Morning. Two hours later, dozends of people would have been sitting under this pile of water, working or having breakfast. So only two people were very lightly injured.

Almost 20 years old but still pretty futuristic. The water was rushing so fast out of the front door, it had no time to flood the basement of that hotel. The spare aquarium in the basement with the fish in reserve is still intact. They are talking about metal fatigue of the supporting structure. I do not think, I will go there again for breakfast, if this water column will be repaired and filled again with 1.000 metric tons of water.
