Interspect claims they have broken the record in highly detailed photos. Interspect is a Hungarian company claims to have clarity all the way down to0.5 cm in width. The thing is, is that it is not a single image but geocoded orthophoto.
Photos were shot by a camera that was attached to a Piper Cherokee Six flying at approximately 150 knots and an altitude of 1,500 feet. Basically, 272 photos were taken, compressed and merged into one image. The process took a few months to formulate. Essentially, by way of high tech precise GPS, each of the pixels of each image was assigned a geographical coordinate thus attaining the final project making it look like one image. Amazing stuff...
New Jersey Couple safe after ditching Piper Cherokee Six in the Hudson River
A New Jersey couple is safe after ditching their Piper Cherokee Six in the frigid waters of the Hudson River in New York. Yonkers Police Officers responded to 911 calls by boat, rescuing the couple about 20-minutes after the airplane went down into the river. Reports suggest that the aircraft went to the bottom shortly after the couple were rescued.
Piper Names B&C Piper Sales as Italian Sales Agent
Piper Aircraft Inc. recently named B&C Piper Sales as the company’s new aircraft sales agent for Italy. Located at Thiene Airport (LIDH) in Northern Italy close to Venice, B&C Piper Sales is situated in the center of Italian general aviation activities. “B&C Piper Sales is well versed in Italian aircraft sales, maintenance and service operations,” said Piper Head of Global Sales and Business Development Drew McEwen. “Director Willj Casato is well known in Italian business, and his aviation background and experience will greatly contribute to Piper’s penetration in this significant European market.” McEwen said Casato will work closely with Enrico Evers, Piper’s Director of Sales for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). B&C Piper Sales is a part of B&C Srl. Unipersonale, which is well known in Italian business circles.
Director Casato said, “Italy’s diversified industrial economy, dominated by small and medium-sized family-owned private companies involved in the manufacture of high-quality consumer goods, is proving to be the perfect market for Piper’s economical M-Class and Twin-Class aircraft. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with one of the best-known aircraft manufacturers in the world.” B&C Piper Sales Director Daniela Faccioli is responsible for administration, financing and orders. Sales Manager Stefano Marchesin has a background in aircraft sales, and he is a certified ground instructor and certified ICAO language proficiency examiner working closely with the Italian aviation authorities. He also is an author of aviation books.
Piper Exhibits to Automobile Dealers
Piper Aircraft will exhibit a cabin mockup of the company’s top-of-the-line Meridian M-Class single-engine aircraft at the 2013 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention & Expo, Feb. 8-11 in Orlando, Fla.
“NADA 2013 is an excellent venue to showcase our M-Class airplanes in front of thousands of successful automobile dealers who will gather in Orlando from throughout the world,” said Piper Head of Sales and New Business Development Drew McEwen. “With new-car and light-truck sales up 13 percent leading the economic recovery, this is an excellent time to assist thriving auto and truck dealers with their air travel needs.”

Piper Aircraft has announced that it has an order for 35 single- and twin-engine trainers from CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, the world’s largest ab initio pilot training organization.
