  1. Second Cirrus Test Jet Takes To The Skies
Duluth based airframer Cirrus Aircraft recently celebrated the first flight of their second conforming Cirrus SF50 Jet. The first flight now allows the second jet dubbed C-1 to join the first conforming Test aircraft C-Zero. The first flight for C-1 took place at the end of November 2014 (25th November) with the aircraft taking off from Duluth International Airport. The flight lasted for approximately 45 minutes while the test pilots checked to ensure everything was functioning as expected. The first test aircraft to date, C-Zero has accumulated over 200 hours on the airframe and is being used primarily to evaluate handling and aerodynamic characteristics. C-1 is expected to be used to evaluate conditions with Flying Into Known Ice while a third Test aircraft, C-2 is anticipated to be the final Vision class jet to join the test program. The third aircraft C-2 is expected to be used to test reliability, full equipment and optional equipment phases. First deliveries of the Cirrus SF50 business jet are hoped for next year.
