Besides this, the amount of damage that the liftoff caused is crazy but I guess that is what happens when you put that much force directly below and not have a 'flame trench' to divert the flames in another direction.

Lockheed Martin to build a nuclear-powered spacecraft for the Pentagon. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and NASA has awarded the contract to to Lockheed to demonstrate how a Nuclear thermal rocket could propel a spacecraft aimed at being significantly more efficient than chemical rockets. They want to do this by early 2026.
