Downtown Skyport is now to manage the city-owned Downtown Manhattan Heliport (KJRB) following approval from the Franchise and Concession Review Committee. The company is expected to take over management of existing operations by early 2025, with infrastructure upgrades planned by 2026. These infrastructural upgrades are expected to include facilities for the integration of eVTOL traffic.
Atlantic Aviation has acquired Ferrovial. This is a strategic move on the part of Atlantic Aviation and it allows them to jump into the game of vertiport infrastructure development for eVTOL operations. “The Ferrovial team is pleased to join Atlantic Aviation to forge a transformative and visionary presence in the AAM infrastructure space,” said Kevin Cox, Ferrovial’s CEO who will remain to take on the same role in the new Atlantic business unit. “We’re setting a new standard for innovation and leadership in the industry which will transform how people move seamlessly to, through, and between cities.”

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in the UAE has granted technical design approval to Skyports for the construction of its first commercial vertiport for eVTOL air taxi flights in Dubai. Although it won't be the first vertiport in Dubai as Skyports and Joby started construction one one towards the end of 2024.
Concepts for vertiports are popping up in Brazil especially with Eve helping to lead an experiment of sorts. A MoU was signed between PRS Aeroportos and VertiMob Infrastructure to jointly participate in a 24-month sandbox exercise initiated by Brazilian civil aviation regulator ANAC.
